WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — NATIVE NOODLES

August 31,2022 | By Sovereign Associates |

A Washington Heights eatery was just named among the hottest lunch spots in New York City. So say’s Gus Saltonstall review on PATCH.com

The designation comes in a recent list from Eater NY, "The 17 Hottest Lunch Spots in NYC," which included Upper Manhattan's own — Native Noodles.

The Singaporean restaurant at 2129 Amsterdam Avenue, near West 166th Street, opened in 2021 after shooting to popularity with a successful run at the Queens Night Market in 2019.

Here's what Eater NY editors had to say about the Washington Heights noodle shop.

"First launched as a food stall at the Queens Night Market in 2019, chef Amy Pryke is now serving her popular Singaporean noodle dishes from a small restaurant in Washington Heights," Eater NY wrote. "New to the brick-and-mortar storefront is the roti john sandwich, a toasted baguette sandwich made from cumin-spiced beef, caramelized onion, and egg. In Singapore, the dish is often eaten as breakfast, but here it makes for a comforting midday meal."

Eater NY also previously named Native Noodles one of the hottest new restaurants of 2021.

Favorites from the restaurant include Popcorn Chicken, Fried Wontons, Satay Noodles, Roti John Sandwiches, and Singapore Fried Noodles. The restaurant's website says that "Native Noodles was founded in 2019, out of Singaporean founder Amy's longing for good food from home."

You can find out more about Native Noodles on its website.
