June is Pride Month; Each year's events commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969 — the beginning of the modern Gay Rights movement. One year later, the Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee organized the first NYC March, and marches have continued every year since. This weekend Sunday, June 25th, we celebrate with the now famous March, colloquially named The Pride Parade. The March has grown to include 700 groups and millions of spectators. This year's theme is "Strength in Solidarity."
