As some of you know, Hudson Heights is a small section of Washington Heights, and it's considered a sub-neighborhood. Even though its size is small, it has plenty to offer. This article is about some of the amenities of living there.

Some of the main perks are Fort Tyron Park and Bennett Park. Did you know that there is a beautiful museum inside Fort Tryon Park called the Cloisters? Which is an extension of The Metropolitan Museum, or as we all call it, The MET. Fort Tyron Park has fantastic river views from which you can see the Palisades. You can experience Heather Garden, a dog park where your furry friend can run unleashed, and much more. There are many free events during summer, from Sunrise Tai Chi to Sunset Yoga. If you would like to learn more about those events, visit the webpage of the NYC Parks. It is, without doubt, one of the best parks in the area.

Bennett Park is considered the highest natural point in Manhattan. It opened in 1929, its super popular playground was built in the 1940s, and is steeped in plenty of history that goes back to the American Revolution.

One of the most vital areas is the intersection of 187th with Fort Washington Ave. You could also say 187th & Pinehurst, the reason being is simple, within a block or block and a half, you will find a cluster of restaurants, a couple of banks, two supermarkets, a bakery, a cafeteria, a pizzeria, a laundromat, and even a martial arts school. All compressed within a block and a half!

Some spots are already institutions within the Washington Heights area, like Kismat. Kismat has been around for over two decades and is the only Indian food restaurant I know about in the Heights. A couple of new places have become very popular; I am talking about Tampopo Kitchen and the Dutch Baby Bakery. You can grab a slice of delicious pizza at Fresco's and a great cup of Joe made of authentic Ethiopian beans at Café Bunni. I just found out we have a new French restaurant, which opened on May 28th, 2023, called La Creparis, and there are many more options for the gourmand in you.

Finally, after all that food, we have the street steps. The ones at 187th & Fort Washington Ave. face East and are a great way to get toned legs. Hudson Heights is such a great spot, a little secret where you don't feel in the city, but you still are. We'll happily assist you if you want to learn more about the housing situation in the area. Guess what! One of our offices is also at 187th. We've been in the business for over 30 years and will gladly provide you with our expertise; Please feel free to reach out!
