Jacob's Pickles

March 19,2019 | By Sovereign Associates |

Jacob’s Pickles on the Upper West side is truly a New York gem, and is talked about by New Yorkers all over the city, not just Upper West Siders.  What makes this Southern comfort food grub hub so popular is its unique specialties: Biscuits, beer and PICKLES, PICKLES, PICKLES!

This restaurant is the epitome of a bloggable restaurant by most every measure from the interior design to the unique menu items and impressive portions, your fingers will undoubtedly itch to snap a trend worthy photo.  Jacob’s Pickles is located right between 84th and 85th Street on Amsterdam Avenue, which has a million other amazing restaurants and bars as well, which comes in handy while waiting be seated. And you will wait. Most likely. That’s really the only bad part about Jacob’s, and unfortunately you can’t make a reservation ahead of time, but it’s worth it!

Let’s talk about the food, shall we? Menu items include biscuits and gravy, chicken and pancakes, croque madame, poutine, and catfish tacos. Oh and pickles- lots and lots of different, delicious pickles. Your taste buds will be in food heaven, but make no mistake, this restaurant is not for those who are not in the mood to indulge. Everything is heavily breaded, fried, and loaded with cream and cheese, and the portion sizes are massive!  But that’s what Southern food is all about, isn’t it?  I’d have been disappointed if it was anything else.

What I’m saying is, Jacob’s Pickles is an experience that you absolutely must indulge in at least once. But it will be more. Because you’ll be back for more. I’d bet on it.

Address: 509 Amsterdam Ave
