As we approach Earth Day, it's important to reflect on our impact on the environment and how we can make positive changes to live more sustainably. Making eco-friendly choices can seem overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. Whether you're just starting or looking to take your green game to the next level, there are simple and practical steps you can take toward a more sustainable lifestyle.

The history of Earth Day and its significance in today's world. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22nd to raise awareness and support for environmental protection. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 and marked the beginning of the modern environmental movement. At that time, pollution was rampant, and ecological degradation's effects were becoming more apparent. Earth Day was a call to action for individuals, businesses, and governments to take responsibility for theirenvironmental impact and work towards a more sustainable future. Today, Earth Day is more cr

itical than ever. It reminds us of our collective responsibility to the environment and motivates us to take action toward a more sustainable future.

The current state of the environment and the urgency for action. Climate change is causing more extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and widespread ecosystem disruption. These issues' effects are environmental but also social and economic. Climate change, for example, can lead to food and water shortages, displacement, and economic instability. We must reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect our natural resources, and transition to a low-carbon economy. The good news is thatsustainable living is good for the environment and has many economic and social benefits.

SEREN & GREG, SOVEREIGN ASSOCIATES OWNERS, CELEBRATING EARTH DAY.

We like to show love for the neighborhood  we live in by picking up trash in the street. Specifically, that's Pinehurst Avenue in Hudson Heights, from 181st Street to 187th Street. This Avenue runs alongside Bennett Park, a much-loved space in our neighborhood, which we like to keep clean and safe for all to use. Every time we go trash-picking, we come back with several bags of trash and recyclables, which we bring to our own building's recycle area and dispose of. We know that other people contribute by picking up trash on our street. Together we hope to make a difference. Feedback tells us that our efforts are much appreciated by people in our community.
