CHERRY BLOSSOMS NYC

After a relatively warm winter and with Daylight savings behind us we are seeing the first signs of the fluffy Cherry Blossoms that herald Spring's arrival. Cherry Blossoms are a beautiful sight to behold, and New York City has no shortage of places to see them. Some of my favorites are both Central and Riverside Parks, the Brooklyn botanical gardens and the Park Avenue Mall between 54-86th street.

Cherry Blossoms have been a part of New York City's landscape for over a century. The first Cherry Trees were gifted to the city by Japan in 1912 as a symbol of friendship. Since then, the Cherry Blossom has become a symbol of Spring in New York City, and people from all over the world come to see them.

If you're planning on viewing, I suggest that you check the Cherry Blossom bloom forecast. The bloom time can vary depending on the weather. Also be sure to bring your camera, Cherry Blossoms make for a beautiful backdrop, and you'll want to capture the moment.
